So che in un giorno di festa non è il massimo buttarla in cagnara, ma purtroppo l'allineamento dei pianeti mi ha portata a dover recensire proprio oggi uno smalto che mi ha lasciata molto perplessa.
Sto parlando dell'OPI Sahara Sapphire, originariamente appartenente alla collezione The Painted Desert del 1998, ma proposto come repromote nella Colorcopia del 2009.
In primis, questo smalto non è zaffiro come il nome suggerisce, ma viola. La seconda grande questione riguarda il suo finish: esistono due fazioni, quella che lo vede come un metallico e quella che lo definisce cromato. Io lo vedo cromato: ha un effetto specchio e non vedo affatto lo shimmer fino tipico dei metallici (se vi sembra di scorgere qualche particella nella seconda foto, è solo una questione di giochi di luce, IRL non ve ne sono). Forse si sono fregati il microshimmer in dogana????
Comunque, Sahara Sapphire è molto pigmentato, praticamente un one coater, e mostra mostruosi segni di pennello una volta steso. Questi, però, vanno ad affievolirsi mano a mano che lo smalto asciuga, per scomparire quasi del tutto dopo aver passato un top coat. Asciuga in fretta e ha una buona durata.
Come tutti i cromati, non mi fa proprio impazzire, ma per lo stamping è favoloso. Lo considero quasi un errore, ogni volta che lo vedo ho il rimorso del compratore, ma è appartenente al mio primo ordine dagli US di moooolti anni fa e all'epoca la consapevolezza da smaltara vissuta mi mancava!
E anche per oggi è tutto, vado a fare un po' la casalinga isterica dato che ieri ho ciurlato un po' troppo nel manico!

Today I'm going to show you a controversial nail polish. I'm talking about OPI Sahara Sapphire, which were originally released in 1998 with The Painted Desert Collection, but was repromote in 2009 with Colorcopia Collection.
Firstly, Sahara Sapphire is not sapphire. It's a pale purple. The second, big controversy about this nail polish is its finish: the majority of nail bloggers described it as a metallic, the minority as a chrome.
I belong to this second "team": I can't see in Sahara Sapphire any microshimmers, but I do see a mirror base. I noticed that, in the second photo you see in this post, it seems that it has some shimmer particles, but I think it's a matter of light reflections because these aren't visible in real life.
Anyway, OPI Sahara Sapphire is really pigmented, it's a one coater, and it shows horrible brushstrokes once applied. Luckily these brushstrokes almost disappear once the nail polish is dried and a top coat is applied.
Moreover, it dries fast and has a good longevity.
To be completely honest, I'm not a huge fan of this nail polish, it belongs to my very first order from the US (that I did maaaaany years ago) so it is one of my first nail polish ever, and of course at that time I didn't have that "awareness" I actually have. But of course I love it for stamping purposes!!!!
And that's all I have for you today, I have to transform myself in a desperate housewife now, my house is a complete mess and I still have to cook the Valentine's cake I promised to my husband! I'm the worst wife ever!
